Old Friends Echobox - tape experimentsThese are the upright pianos you grew up with. In living rooms, at grandmas house, in little churches nobody wanted anymore. Out of tune, clunky and dusty but still writing songs. Every key was sampled as is. The broken notes are just clacks. No reverb added, only a touch of compression. Layer them together and the pitch drifts into an interesting chorus that's trying to find the center. Old Friends isnt a concert grand. Its the piano thats been with
